NWL TSH Appropriate Body – Induction for Early Career Teachers Privacy Policy

This policy sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us. Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it. By registering with NWL TSH’s Appropriate Body Service via ECT Manager you are accepting and consenting to the practices described in this policy.

Information we may collect from you. We may collect and process the following data about you: Information you give us. You may give us personal information about you by filling in forms or by corresponding with us by phone, e-mail or otherwise. The information you give us may include your name, address, email address and phone number, your date of birth, academic qualifications, work experience, Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and Teacher Reference Number.

We will use information you have provided the NWL TSH Appropriate Body for the purpose of: • carrying out our statutory obligations with regard to the Induction of Early Career Teachers, including where we have a quality assurance role as the Appropriate Body – for full details see the statutory guidance for ECT induction. • to notify you of the status of your Induction • to notify you about changes to our service; • to ensure that content from our site is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer.

Information we receive from other sources. We may receive information about you from third parties such as your employer (past and present) and training institutions for the purpose of verifying qualifications. We may also receive information about you from the Department for Education and/or Teacher Regulation Agency. We may combine this information with information you give to us and information we collect about you.

Disclosure of your information We may share your personal information with: • Educational institutions throughout England and Wales for the purpose of Statutory Early Career Teacher (ECT) Induction • Department for Education and/or Teacher Regulation Agency for the purpose of pre-employment checks. • Teachers’ Union for legal purposes should the need arise

We may disclose your personal information to third parties: • If we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation.

Where we store your personal data We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy. All information you provide to us is stored on a secure server. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of our site, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone.

Access to Information and Your rights You may ask us whether we are storing personal information about you by emailing [email protected] if you wish, we will provide you with a copy of the personal data we hold about you. We may ask for proof of your identity before providing any information and reserve the right to refuse to provide information requested if identity is not established.
